PROCESS

How Data Center Decommissioning Works

  1. Request Data Center Service

Submit the project location, equipment types, estimated quantity, access details and required services. We will contact you to review the scope.

  2. Confirm the Project Plan

We confirm scheduling, site access, labor, equipment removal, data-security requirements, documentation and any applicable fees.

  3. Equipment Removal and Processing

Our team collects the approved equipment and directs each asset through the appropriate reuse, value-recovery, data-destruction or recycling process.

  4. Receive Documentation

When included in the service scope, receive serialized equipment records, chain-of-custody documentation, Certificates of Data Destruction and environmental reporting through the Client Portal.

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

FAQs

Can LAeCycle remove equipment from server racks?

Equipment removal from server racks and onsite labor can be reviewed as part of the project scope. Tell us what is already disconnected, whether racks also need removal and any site-access requirements.

Can you provide serialized asset reports?

Serialized equipment records and asset-tag fields are available when included in the agreed project scope. Confirm the required fields and reporting needs before service begins.

Do you handle storage-media destruction?

Secure sanitization and physical media-destruction options are available for supported drives, tapes and other storage media. Confirm the media types, method and documentation requirements when planning the project.

Can you support a complete data center closure?

Yes. LAeCycle can review complete data center closures, including equipment removal, site access, data handling and reporting needs. Share the equipment inventory, access details and required timeline so we can confirm the project scope.

Do you provide Certificates of Data Destruction?

Certificates of Data Destruction are available for qualifying data-destruction services when included in the agreed project scope. Confirm serial-number and documentation requirements before the project begins.

Can reusable data center equipment be evaluated for value recovery?

Reusable equipment may be evaluated for refurbishment or remarketing. Eligibility and potential value depend on age, condition, configuration, ownership, functionality and removal of device-enrollment restrictions.
